  • Nurtured NOLA Evaluation and Therapy is located at 6260 Vicksburg Street, Suite 106, New Orleans, LA 70124. The building is situated near the corner of Vicksburg St. and Harrison Ave. in the same building as Creole Creamery in Lakeview. Enter through the glass vestibule, and the Nurtured NOLA suite is at the end of the hallway.

  • Nurtured NOLA Evaluation and Therapy does not accept insurance and is considered an out-of-network provider for all insurance plans. You may contact your insurance provider regarding out-of-network benefits. Nurtured NOLA can provide you with a superbill, but it is the client’s responsibility to handle all insurance-related tasks. We cannot guarantee that your insurance company will provide reimbursement.

  • Existing clients have access to the Simple Practice client portal. Established clients should use the portal for secure messaging and telehealth sessions.

  • Appointments can be changed or cancelled at no charge if we are notified at least 24 hours in advance.  If you cancel your appointment within fewer than 24 hours, or you miss an appointment, you will be charged a missed appointment fee amounting to a full session charge per missed session (i.e., $145/session for Ms. Aken and $175/session for Dr. Asher). If an outstanding balance exists, you will not be able to schedule future appointments until the balance is paid in full.

  • Therapy focuses on emotional well-being and developing insight and coping tools. It typically spans a wider range of topics and therapeutic approaches or strategies. Coaching is more specific in its focus and process, emphasizing goal-setting, planning, and accountability. Coaching and therapy both aim to foster personal development; however, coaching is generally more focused on achieving concrete future goals, while therapy addresses emotional and psychological well-being.

  • Yes, our psychologist provides ADHD assessments for adults.  ADHD assessments for adults will vary based on individual client needs (e.g., seeking accommodations for post-graduate studies and exams versus seeking greater understanding of self).  Testing is billed at an hourly rate of $245/hour; however, testing time needed will differ depending on individual referral questions.
